The ConnectedBody method helps you to develop the tissues and neurology required to move with power and strength in any motion. The body is full of connections, from muscles to bone, muscles to muscles and everything in between. This module is focused on strengthening these connections, removing the slack from the system and creating a body that links muscle action, connective tissues and co-ordination in every motion.
The Connected Body is achieved when the practitioners has developed the tissues of the major body lines so as to create whole body power in the major planes of motion. The Connected BodyAttribute is closely linked with isometrics, stretching, tensioning, linking, pairing and breath.
It is said that every major injury in the life of an athlete is to the connective tissues. When your connective tissues are not elastic enough, are too elastic, are too weak for your muscle strength or are not supported further along the chain then injuries can occur. Many methods will train the musculature to try to protect the joints, but in the connected body method we focus on training the connective tissues themselves. These tissues wrap and protect the muscles, the joints and even the organs. Strengthening them will enhance injury prevention, but also avoid overloading individual muscles or joints by connecting full chains of tissue together rather than segmenting them.
Power and its appropriate use is one of the major factors in the fight. The 'ConnectedBody' training will dramatically increase your power by backing up every motion with the entire tissue chain rather than an individual muscle group. The total force produced for a given action is larger when achieve connection because all muscle groups fire in a cohesive and unified way. Additionally when the body is connected from hand to foot, our sensitivity to pressure and our ability to change to that pressure increases. If you image the connective tissues (fascia) to be like a spiders web, every part will let you know what the opponents it trying to do the instant they touch.
ConnectedBody training is a type of stretching that utilises the simultanious isometric contraction and lengthening. We form and hold elongated postures that engage the entire line that we are developing and use contractions and extensions to condition the tissues. In addition we utilize isometric holds to load the tissue chains and while we contract and extend them.
