It is probably worth starting with what this system isn't, it isn't a martial art and is not concerned with teaching people how to fight or defend themselves. Instead, MartialBody should be viewed as a supplementary system of body and mind training that is focused on providing martial artists, combat sports athletes and combative practitioners with tools to help them express their art in the optimum way. It is as relevant to the Traditional Karate-Ka as it is to the Brazilian Jiujitsu Competitor.
MartialBody is focused on building a set of attributes that are found in the top performers across the myriad styles of Martial Arts. It contains methods from a wide variety of sources. From the traditional body, breath and mind training methods of Japan and China, to the modern sports sciences, strength and conditioning, manual therapies and meditation traditions. Far from being a static system, MartialBody continues to evolve as new research and techniques become available. The system is the culmination of 6 years of constant refinement, 30 years of martial arts, national level sports coaching and therapeutic practice.
We aim to illicit real change in the athlete and all measures towards that goal have been carefully considered and tested.
